Step up your beginner skills by practicing switching between knit and purl to create images. We'll finish it off with some classic fringe! Basic beginner knitting skills are required (knit, purl, cast on, bind off).

Materials: Needles: Size 6 straight needles (7s would be fine too since gauge isn't really important!) You will also need a crochet hook if you want to add fringe. 
Yarn: Worsted weight. Choose a yarn that isn't too dark or bumpy, or it will be hard to see the stitches!

Recommended: basic knitting supplies such as darning needle, row counter, writing utensil to take notes
